We improved the management of collections in the channel and automated the collection of virtual cards from Booking.com.
We have recently encountered numerous customers concerned about the booking process with regard to the control of the collection of virtual cards from Booking.com and other channels.
Firstly, there is an additional manual workload for the control and charging of these virtual cards. Secondly, there is a lot of confusion, to the point that even - if the receptionist is not attentive - the customer could be charged twice for the reservation, once at reception or at the online check-in, and the other time against the virtual card.
Avoiding confusion and automating the management of the system
From now on, thanks to the new improvement in our PMS, when a booking arrives with a virtual card that has already been prepaid in Booking.com, the prepaid amount will appear in the booking, the date of collection of the virtual card and this amount will also be subtracted from the outstanding amount of the client.

Once a charge has been made to the virtual card, and the charge will be added to the booking, the amount paid in the channel will cease to have effect and the management of the booking will continue with normal operations with charges and invoices.
Automation of charges on virtual cards
If your hotel is configured to work with POS by webservice, from now on we offer the possibility of automatically processing these collections so that you don't have to worry about having to process them manually.

Important notice:
Currently, the automation of the prepaid amount in the channel is only available for the Booking.com channel and for those hotels that are directly connected.
We will be adding channels (Expedia, Hotelbeds) and Channel Managers (SiteMinder, YieldPlanet, Dingus) as soon as it is possible to implement this functionality.
