The transformation of a campsite on the Costa Brava into a sustainable resort and an example of innovation in its management and operations.

Interpals Eco Resort is a new campsite that joins a hotel PMS like GuestPro to accelerate its management and improve itsoperations . We visited them in Pals (Costa Brava) to find out how their first season using our technology went.

Interpals Eco Resort is a sustainable family campsite that has undergone a total transformation in the last three years: from the redesign of facilities and accommodation areas to the implementation of a hotel PMS in the cloud such as GuestPro to digitise its management and operations.

Its commitment to sustainability, innovation and family experience have positioned it as a benchmark in the camping and glamping sector on the Costa Brava.

Interpals Eco Resort: nature, comfort and sustainability

The campsite is located in a privileged setting: a continental dune surrounded by a hundred-year-old pine forest and just a few metres from Pals beach. It offers a wide variety of accommodation, including bungalows, glamping and plots, which have undergone a profound transformation over the last 3 years.

According to Eloi Rigau, general manager:

"Minimising the impact on the environment in which we have the privilege of being is one of our priorities. We work to preserve nature and take care, at all times, of our beloved land".

In this sense, the campsite takes sustainability very seriously. They have been ISO 14.001 certified and EMAS certified since 2001; and this year they have also obtained the Biosphere, thus reinforcing their environmental commitment.

All of this is accompanied by communal areas designed for families: swimming pool, water games, children's areas and a mini-club that will be renovated in 2026.

The origin of its customers is split 50/50 between national and international. 47% are Spanish (mostly from Catalonia) and among the international clientele, the Dutch stand out, closely followed by the French and in recent years the Germans have increased their numbers.

Transformation of facilities: from campsite to eco resort

During our visit at the end of the season, we were able to see the magnitude of the ambitious renovation plan that has been carried out:

  • New entrance and open central square connecting the swimming pool and the restaurant, in a "seaside village" atmosphere.
  • Renovated bungalows in the first and second line, integrated with wooden streets and native vegetation, as if they were "neighbourhoods".
  • Updated glamping area converted into the "adventure zone" with premium accommodation and spaces dedicated to biodiversity, such as the butterfly protection area.

The modernisation process continues in 2026 with the upgrading of accommodation currently dedicated to touroperation and changes to the pitch area.

The age of the visitors is quite young, especially in the 30-45 age group, so there are many young children. Hence the importance of improving the Miniclub area with a view to 2026.

Digitalisation and hotel management: GuestPro as an ally

The upgrade has not only been physical, but also digital. The resort has implemented a hotel PMS such as GuestPro for the management of its business and also for the development of its new website and integrated booking engine. Eloi Rigau sums it up:

"The business model in campsites is becoming more and more similar to that of a hotel resort. For example, our bungalows function as rooms. With GuestPro we have found the stability and flexibility we were looking for to manage our day-to-day business in the cloud. In addition, we have maintained connectivity with other providers, which is very important to us, and we have been able to manage the daily operations of our campsite more easily.

When we talk about "success stories" we always like to ask which GuestPro tools they use most often. Glòria, responsible for the day-to-day, confesses that she can't do without consulting the planning and reservations part, while Eloi, who manages the general management part, is more into consulting the sales report.

Results and next steps

After their first season with GuestPro, the Interpals Eco Resort team is already planning the next steps to improve the technology:

  • Enhance revenue management to optimise prices and profitability.
  • Encourage the sale of experiences within the resort as a new source of income.

With sales for the 2026 season already open, the campsite is preparing to continue improving its facilities and operations, and to consolidate its position as one of the leading family campsites on the Costa Brava.
