GuestPro launches Upselling functionality

At GuestPro we continue to improve our platform so that hotels can offer the best guest experience and at the same time increase their direct revenue.

The latest news is now available: Upselling for GuestPro Direct (booking engine) customers.

What does this new functionality consist of?

With this enhancement, hotel guests can change room type or add an extra autonomously during their booking process or even in the pre-stay phase. In this way, guests can upgrade their reservation in a completely autonomous way, both at the time of booking and in the days prior to arrival.

The hotel can offer:

Roomupsell → upgrade the room in a few clicks, e.g. upgrade from a standard room to a superior room.

Extrasupsell → add extra services such as breakfast, parking, spa access or any extra available in the hotel configuration.

This means that if a guest booked a standard room but wants more comfort or exclusivity, they can upgrade their booking on the spot without any manual intervention from the hotel staff and add any extras that are available.

How GuestPro works

The configuration is very simple and flexible:

  • Activate from: Hotel Settings → Webdesk → Upselling.
  • Full control: enable or disable when desired.
  • Minimum amount: define a minimum price per night in the case of room upsellings.
  • Minimum anticipation: establish how far in advance you can hire, both for rooms and extras (example: 3 days before arrival, or even the same day of check-in).

In this way, the hotel has total control over how to manage access to these upgrades in its clients' bookings.

    Let's see a practical example

    A customer books a standard room (€100/night). During the online check-in, he sees the following options to upgrade his stay:

    • room upgrade → superior for +35 €/night.
    • extra → spa access for +15 €/night.

    (provided that the minimum advance booking is met)

    Customer accepts → the hotel earns an additional €50 on the stay without effort.
