Interview with Xavier Lopez, CEO of EISI SOFT & Co-founder at Schôolers

A new edition of our series of interviews dedicated to getting to know our partners and collaborators better; companies whose applications and technological tools are integrated into our platform. From here we continue to build bridges between technology and the hotel sector; commercial relationships, learning and collaboration to continue growing both at company and sector level.
We now turn to the operational management side and for this we talk to Xavier López, a professional with a long experience who has been applying the latest innovations in technology to the hotel sector for 15 years. Now as CEO of EISI SOFT, he continues to bring his groundbreaking vision to digitalisation in operations and specialised online training as co-founder of Schôolers.

What does the software designed by EISI SOFT consist of? Tell us a little about your technological solution
EISI SOFT was created as a technology company to provide consulting services, training and software development for various sectors. "The digitisation and optimisation of processes is in our DNA, we have developed various customised solutions that contribute to the digitisation and management of operational processes, such as technical-legal, hygienic-sanitary and environmental".
EISI HOTEL is a specific solution for the hotel sector that unifies all hotel departments in a single cloud application. "Our objective is to facilitate the work of the staff by allowing the management, control and analysis of operations in a single tool that can also be integrated bidirectionally with the hotel's PMS", explains Xavier López. This is the case of GuestPro's PMS, which currently integrates the operational management of EISIHOTEL.
Maintenance (CMMS), housekeeping, energy and environmental management, pool management, HACCP, legionella prevention, communication with external suppliers, as well as the standardisation of a long list of tasks and protocols.
Today, its software solutions are present in more than 800 establishments in more than 20 countries around the world.
How does it work?
The platform developed by EISI SOFT works through different interconnected operational and regulatory modules to digitise a large number of processes and improve key indicators. All of this is linked to a powerful diagnostic and decision-making dashboard, with reports and dashboards to visualise all the information recorded in real time and historically.

What benefits does integration with EISI HOTEL bring to the hotel sector?
In this highly competitive sector, it is essential to manage operational and regulatory processes correctly. So having the maximum digitisation and unification in all business processes is indispensable. In this sense, "EISI HOTEL offers the possibility of maximising the possibilities of control and optimisation, in order to achieve the highest standards of quality and efficiency that will undoubtedly result in greater customer satisfaction and, consequently, in obtaining better results," says López.
There are many aspects that the integration with EISI HOTEL improves, Xavier López highlights the reduction in the resolution of incidents or communication between departments. "Optimising staff time, reducing costs, improving productivity and decision-making are some of the advantages of having this specialised technology," he says.

What role does artificial intelligence play in hotel digitalisation?
Xavier López is passionate about the latest trends and artificial intelligence is, without a doubt, one of them. "AI is very broad and can help to simplify and automate functions and decision-making in the different areas of hotel digitalisation. At EISISOFT we are immersed in an Artificial Intelligence application project that aims to turn EISI HOTEL into the digital twin of the hotel asset, with which to transform the establishment's operations into data and generate predictions and simulations that help automate decision-making on the management of all operations".
This type of technology is an evolution towards 4.0 management that allows us to use data to simplify decisions on cost control, organisational structure, asset acquisition... The importance of data from which to learn about future actions in our operations.
What do you think will be the trends in the hotel sector by 2022?
"Two concepts are the ones to which the entire sector is giving greater importance this year and in the near future: digitalisation and sustainability. We have seen how the pandemic has accelerated all the digitalisation processes and, without a doubt, this is the year of the fight against climate change and there are a lot of guidelines and initiatives coming up at European, national and regional level to meet the carbon neutrality targets.
EISI SOFT has detected that many hotels are seeing the need to digitalise the calculation of their carbon footprint with solutions such as the new sustainability module they have developed to respond to the demands in terms of ecological transition and circular economy that institutions and clients are increasingly demanding. The module provides real-time carbon footprint data for different types of emission sources, such as electricity, fuels, gases, etc.
As for the latest of the latest, blockchain technology, "we have no doubt that it has a long way to go and an infinite number of applications, from the traceability of any type of actions to tokenisation", says Xavier López. He also sees everything that the world of metaverses and NFTs can offer in the commercial and customer loyalty areas as very interesting. However, "in the back office area where we focus, we see more interesting the application of artificial intelligence algorithms with which to obtain a Digital Twin of the Hotel that allows us to stress the asset and model operational changes, returning future predictions of the impact that these changes would have in a real environment. With the aim of reducing operating costs, improving the customer experience and ensuring a good state of health of the asset, as well as a more sustainable behaviour".
"We have no doubt that blockchain technology has a long way to go and an infinite number of applications, from the traceability of all types of actions to tokenisation.
What are your challenges for the new year?
Good news for EISI SOFT , which has been forced to double the team due to the large number of projects to be launched. "We have a year full of changes ahead in which we also have in mind to expand our commercial efforts in Latin America with the intention of increasing our presence there", says Xavier.
GuestPro maintains a close relationship with EISI SOFT, being EISI HOTEL our reference software for housekeeping and maintenance operations, which we have integrated from our PMS. We are also collaborating with them in the celebration of the HotelTech Summit events in different parts of the country, where we bring technology and digitalisation closer to the hotel sector.
