We explain with a video the COF (Credential On File) operation with Redsys Virtual POS.
Many customers ask us about the COF operation of the Redsys POS. Here is a video in which you can see how the operation works, both online payment with SCA, as well as subsequent operations in GuestPro, both re-authorisations and refunds.
1. When the customer makes the first payment, the POS returns the OK/KO response together with a code (Txnid) also usually called "token".
2. This code is associated with the customer's card details (numbers and authorisation) which the POS has stored for later use.
3. The token is stored together with the reservation in GuestPro, which allows us to launch the necessary operations (re-authorisation in case of no-show, as well as total or partial refund in case of cancellation within the deadline).
Redsys POS in COF mode, the best option for adapting to PSD2
PSD2 has generated a lot of doubts, and with them, a lot of smoke. And in the midst of this smoke, and the lack of information, some are trying to make business...
At GuestPro | Nextgen Hoteltech we are aware that our recommendations are important for our clients. And in the case of PSD2, we can do nothing but recommend only the Redsys virtual POS with COF operation.
Why?
- Redsys is the most straightforward and cleanest system to implement, there are no unnecessary intermediaries.
- The functionality is just right. No more or less features are needed.
- The financial cost is the lowest for the hotel.
- It is the most secure and transparent system for the user.
At GuestPro we are very surprised that providers that boast of being able to optimise every cent with the latest in performance marketing and meta-search engines, are not the least bit concerned that the financial costs of the hotel's payment systems shoot up by 2x, 3x or more, going from 0.3% to 1%, 1.5% or even more.
In our opinion, if your technology provider does not clearly recommend you to implement the Redsys POS COF option as a payment system, it is possible that they don't care as much about your hotel as they pretend to...
