For the first time, we are holding a day of learning and inspiration where we bring the experience of experts face to face with the real needs of hospitality professionals.
Tuesday 28th November, THB Los Molinos, Ibiza. GuestPro, RateGain, Wavyssa with the special collaboration of Neobookings are organising for the first time a day of learning and inspiration on marketing, sales and hotel management. The idea is simple; to hold an academic hotel experience that brings together technology companies and hoteliers in Ibiza to learn from each other. Spread knowledge and learn first hand what the sector needs to improve their business.
Disruptive companies
The Ibiza meeting brought together four technology companies, experts in hotel management, revenue management, distribution, operations and digitisation, with the aim of engaging in a direct conversation with all types of professionals in the tourism industry.
After the presentation of the day by Christiane Sieveking, vice president of sales at RateGain, Irene Guinarte, CEO & Co-founder of the Ibizan company Wavyssa, gave a lesson on revenue management focused on the holiday hotel sector, in which she pointed out the importance of data and above all the importance of the person who analyses it, since data without analysis "is worthless". Xavier Pallicer, CEO & Founder of GuestPro, gave his vision of what a PMS should be like in the presentation: "Vertical PMS - In search of the lost best of breed". He explained his model away from the traditional horizontal structure and how the technological stack of a hotel business should be. Next, Jose María Ramón, CEO of Neobookings, closed the inspirational talks with a master class on marketing, specifically on the recent changes in Google Analytics, cookies and conversions.
Hotel trivia and constructive face-to-face discussions
After the three talks, the meeting focused on the more interactive part of the morning with a trivia game, which then allowed attendees to share ideas, knowledge and doubts.
With Christiane Sieveking as master of ceremonies, it was time to ask questions to the hoteliers. Questions were asked about automation, revenue and distribution strategies, the importance of data, investment in technology, implementations... The hoteliers' answers were then shared in an interesting face-to-face session that answered many of the questions that were discussed during the day. The attendees had to give themselves marks and although for most of them "they are making good progress", there were also some who confessed that "they need to improve".
Finally, "faculty and students" moved to the garden of the THB Los Molinos to enjoy a lively cocktail and it was the perfect moment for networking in which speakers, hotel guests and attendees were able to chat in a relaxed atmosphere.
