After visiting the island in March, we returned for a day of learning and a good atmosphere.
Continuing the autumn tour of the HotelTech Summit, we visited Ibiza in a privileged setting with stunning views, to talk to hoteliers interested in the digitisation of their businesses.
The event organised by GuestPro returned to Ibiza seven months later. Just before closing a season that Ibizan hoteliers describe as a resounding success, they took a short break to share a space in which to talk and get closer to the technologies presented by the guest companies: Hotelverse, Eisi Soft, Revo Systems and, the organiser, GuestPro.
The Torre Ibiza in Sant Antoni welcomed us with its spectacular views on a sunny day that invited conversation and confidences. In this incomparable setting there was time to delve into the different technological tools that allow the hotel business to advance in its digitisation.
What does your hotel need to be up to date?
This was the name given to the presentations at the event, precisely to focus on the latest trends in digitisation that come with the aim of providing a hotel business with the technology it needs to succeed.
Laura Rodríguez, sales manager of the successful Hotelverse, presented the vision of her disruptive company that is revolutionising the hotel booking process. The hotel has become just another channel for the consumer, with no added value and price as the only driver, said Rodriguez, "We have come to break the trend from the consumer's point of view". To do so, they are already using retail sales practices in which technology offers a hyper-realistic experience. The customer now has the power of choice, personalising the booking process into a unique experience. A 3D generated hotel provides the unique opportunity to see exactly what the room you are going to book will look like.

Next, Xavier López Llull, CEO of the Mallorcan company EISI SOFT, analysed the current situation of the digitalisation of hotel operations and compared it to a year ago. Sustainability, investment in technology and training to attract and retain talent are three basic aspects to be taken into account in the hotel business. According to López Llull, it will be essential to know how to save costs in technology, is all the technology we have efficient, save in HR as it is difficult to find staff and take into account the importance of data, that it is reliable data and that it helps us to improve our business.

After a short coffee break, Ignasi Olivé, CEO & Founder of REVO Systems, closed the presentations to talk about his technological solution that "integrates with everything you leave", a perfect POS for the management of points of sale within a hotel. REVO's philosophy is based on simplicity, "if it's too complicated, we don't do it; we can't complicate a process just for the sake of making it digital". For Olivé, the sector is changing very fast, orders are placed from the phone, a robot serves the tables... "we must adapt to what the customer demands".
Xavier Pallicer, CEO & Founder of GuestPro and organiser of the meeting, was in charge of closing the presentations and took the opportunity to present one of the company's new products for the new season. GuestPro's Webdesk is a guest interaction platform designed to improve the user experience by 100%. Check-in and Check-out, booking modifications, upselling, collections, billing, marketing tools; a tool designed so that the client can carry out all operations from their mobile phone and a request that many forward-looking hoteliers are demanding.

At the end of the talks, the speakers spent a few minutes discussing with the attendees about their business, the season, security and even anecdotes and curiosities. The complicity gave way to a lively networking in which there was time for relaxation and a good atmosphere, while enjoying the sea views and the delicious croquettes.
